Chain is strongly dissatisfied with US actions in South China Sea

Briefing on Friday by China Foreign Affairs ministry expressed strong dissatisfaction regarding US violation of its security zone in South China Sea. The spokesman stated that the actions of US are dangerous and could cause damage. On Wednesday a US surveillance plane was sent 8 warnings by Chinese Navy when it flew through the security zone. The pilot responded to these warnings but did not change its course. Chinese foreign ministry labelled it a security threat to the country’s sovereignty.

“Such action is likely to cause an accident, it is very irresponsible and dangerous and detrimental to regional peace and stability. We express our strong dissatisfaction, we urge the U.S. to strictly abide by international law and international rules and refrain from taking any risky and provocative actions,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei told a news conference.

“China will continue to closely monitor the relevant area and take the necessary and appropriate measures to prevent harm to the safety of China’s islands and reefs as well as any sea and air accidents.”

China is aggressively reclaiming land near Spratly Islands. US considers it a violation of international laws.
